The Stellenbosch Civil Advocacy Network (SCAN)

Membership

SCAN Directory Membership is inclusive and is accessible to all who have a role to play in the socio-economic development community of Stellenbosch.

About our Membership

SCAN membership is open to organisations and stakeholders active in socio-economic development within Stellenbosch. This includes non-governmental organisations, community-based organisations, formal social welfare organisations, social enterprises, religious organisations, trade unions, training institutions, and government representatives. For an annual fee, members join a vibrant network of organisations, gaining access to events, updates, funding opportunities, and collaborative platforms. Membership provides a space to build relationships, share knowledge, and work together on shared priorities, strengthening both individual organisations and the broader development ecosystem. Eligible civil society organisations are invited to join SCAN and connect with a wide range of stakeholders in the socio-economic development sector. Once registered, your organisation can create an NGO profile, which will be featured in the SCAN Directory with its own dedicated webpage. This profile allows other members, partners, and the public to learn about your work and connect with your organisation.

The annual membership fee is R450, which covers access to SCAN’s full range of benefits. This includes updates on events, opportunities to engage with other network members, and timely information about relevant funding and sector developments.

Memberships are renewed each year in March. To maintain access to all network benefits, members receive an invoice and are asked to complete the renewal form. This process not only confirms your membership but also allows you to update your organisation’s details for your SCAN Directory profile, ensuring that your information is current and accurate. Our Mission

A Stellenbosch community
that works together for the common good

About Us

The Stellenbosch Civil Advocacy Network (SCAN) is a collective of civil society organisations working across the Stellenbosch Municipal area to strengthen socio-economic development through connection, collaboration, and shared learning.

SCAN provides a structured platform for organisations to engage, exchange information, and align efforts on common challenges and opportunities. Through its network, working groups, and communication channels, SCAN enables a more connected and responsive civil society sector.

The network plays a key role in amplifying its members’ collective voice, supporting advocacy efforts, and fostering constructive engagement with government, business, and academia.

At its core, SCAN exists to strengthen collaboration, build organisational capacity, and contribute to a more coordinated and effective development ecosystem in Stellenbosch.
